Economy System

Crime & Jail System

High-risk economy activities with potential for great reward or jail time. Manage your risk tolerance and stay on the right side of the law.

System Overview

The crime system provides alternative income opportunities with varying risk levels:

Safe: Begging

Low earnings, no risk. Quick cooldown for steady passive income.

Risky: Robbery

Attempt to steal from other members. Success = coins. Failure = jail.

Very Risky: Crime

Commit serious crimes for huge rewards. High risk of jail time.

Begging

The safest way to earn coins. No risk of jail, but rewards are modest.

/beg

Description: Beg for coins with no risk of punishment

Cooldown: 30 seconds (configurable)

Reward: Random amount of coins (low range)

Risk: None

Jail Chance: 0%

Best for Beginners

Begging is the safest income source for new members to build initial capital without risk.

Robbery

Attempt to steal coins from another member. Success yields coins; failure results in jail time.

/rob <user>

Description: Attempt to rob another member's available coins

Parameters:

  • user - Member to attempt robbery on

On Success: Steal 10-50% of their available coins

On Failure: Get caught and jailed immediately

Success Rate: Configurable (default varies)

Bank Protection

You can only steal from a member's available balance. Banked coins are always safe from robbery attempts.

Jail Risk

Failed robberies have serious consequences. You'll be arrested and jailed, preventing all economy activities.

Crime

Commit serious crimes for massive coin rewards. Extremely high risk of jail time.

/crime

Description: Commit a serious crime for high-reward coins

On Success: Earn substantial coins (much more than robbery)

On Failure: Get caught and jailed immediately

Success Rate: Configurable (default varies, lower than robbery)

Risk Level: Extreme

High Risk, High Reward

Crime offers the biggest coin rewards but carries the highest risk of jail. Use only if you can afford jail time and bail cost.

Jail System

Getting caught committing crimes results in jail time. While jailed, you're locked out of all economy activities.

Check Jail Status

/jail

Description: Check if you're currently in jail and remaining time

Shows: Jail status, time remaining, bail cost (if applicable)

Pay Bail

/bail

Description: Pay bail to get released from jail immediately

Cost: Configurable amount (default varies by server)

Effect: Immediately released from jail; can resume economy activities

Requirement: Must have enough coins in available balance

Escape from Jail

/break

Description: Attempt a risky prison break (alternative to bail)

On Success: Freed from jail without paying bail

On Failure: Extended jail time (even more risk!)

Success Rate: Configurable (low percentage)

Risk Level: Extreme

Jail Blocks All Economy

While in jail, you cannot work, fish, hunt, rob, beg, use /bal, or perform any other economy commands. You're completely locked out.

Jail Mechanics

Sentence Duration

Jail sentences have a set duration. Time passes in real-time. You can pay bail at any time to leave early.

Bail Cost

Bail cost varies and is configurable by administrators. It's usually a significant amount to discourage crime.

Break Escape Risk

Breaking out of jail is extremely risky. Failed escapes result in extended sentences, making bail the safer choice.

Multiple Sentences

Getting caught multiple times adds time to your sentence. Repeat offenders face longer jail terms.

Risk vs Reward Analysis

Begging

Risk: None | Cooldown: 30s | Reward: Low

Best for: Steady passive income, new players, risk-averse members

Robbery

Risk: Moderate | Success Rate: Medium | Reward: Moderate

Best for: Players seeking balance of risk and reward

Crime

Risk: Extreme | Success Rate: Low | Reward: Massive

Best for: Bold players with capital to lose, jail-risk tolerance

Strategy Tips

Bank Your Money

Keep most coins in the bank. Only keep what you plan to spend or risk in your available balance.

Calculate Expected Value

Compare potential reward vs bail cost. Crime might not be worth it if failure costs more than you'd gain on success.

Avoid Addiction to Crime

Crime is designed to be tempting but high-risk. Don't get caught in a cycle of jail→bail→jail. Use legitimate income sources.

Use Bail as Insurance

Always have enough coins for bail if you plan to commit crimes. Getting jailed without bail is a serious setback.
